Bigler Baseball / St. John's Northwestern Tournament Itinerary

Day 1

Tournament games will be held from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

First Evening

• Madison Mallards Baseball Game
  • Players and coaches will ride in air-conditioned chartered coach busses to a Madison Mallards' baseball game. The Mallards are one of the Northwood League Summer Collegiate Baseball teams and have a rich tradition in the Madison area. There will be a tail-gate party before the game so you get a chance to meet and talk with some of the coaches and players of the Mallards' team. After our tail-gate, we will root for the Mallards as they battle the Green Bay Bullfrogs!

 

Day 2

Tournament games will be held from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM

Second Evening

• Instructional/Motivational Presentations by former Major League Players
  • Players and coaches will hear what it takes to become a Major League player
• Individual Position Break-out Sessions
  • Pitching – What pitch, when, where and why
  • Hitting – Balance, Attitude and Timing is everything
  • Fielding – Your position, techniques and responsibilities

 

Day 3

Tournament games will be held from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM

Third Evening

Teams will get an opportunity to compete against each other in something other than baseball!

• Team Building Activities
  • Obstacle Course
  • Tug-o-war
  • Repelling

 

Day 4

Tournament games will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

There will be a team/family picnic lunch at 11:30 AM to recognize everyone and their contributions.

• Tournament Championship Game – 2:00 PM
• Trophy Presentations

St. John's Northwestern Military Academy

The Academy in Brief

St. John's Northwestern Military Academy is a private, all-male college preparatory and leadership development school that combines personalized academic instruction, mandatory participation in athletics, ongoing instruction in ethics and values, and a structured, military-style environment that together allow each student an opportunity to achieve at his full potential. The goal of the Academy is to prepare each of our cadets for success in life by instilling in them a solid work ethic, an understanding of the value of integrity and teamwork, and the ability to think critically, communicate well, and function in a diverse and ever-changing world.

Since 1884, the school has been developing the minds and shaping the character of young men from around the country and around the world, many of whom have gone on to achieve great success. Our alumni include heads of state, key business leaders, professional athletes, accomplished artists, statesmen and politicians, and a variety of others who have made important contributions to a broad spectrum of society.

The Academy is principally a boarding school for students from grades 7 to 12, but has an active day program for young men in those grades as well. In addition, it has a one-year post-high school program that caters to three distinct sets of students:

• Those who wish to attend one of the nation's five service academies (United States Military Academy at West Point, United States Naval Academy - Annapolis, United States Air Force Academy, United States Coast Guard Academy and United States Merchant Marine Academy), but need additional academic development to be favorably considered.
• Those who wish to participate in NCAA athletics, but need additional physical development or academic instruction to meet either NCAA or school-specific academic requirements.
• Those who wish to begin their college experience in a structure environment that will help ensure their success in the often difficult first year.

Each of these post-high school programs is conducted in partnership with the University of Wisconsin System and tailored instruction is delivered at a college level.
